Now that you have logged in to the OLC, you can access the On-Demand Sandbox by completing the following steps:
Select the "Sandbox Session"
You've now entered a sample lab session. There is description of the Sandbox environment and a screencast that demonstrates usage.
Note: The Quicktime file is fairly lengthy and takes a few minutes to download.
The options available on this page are called out in the "This Lab" window to the right. The specific forum and FAQ tied to this session have links here, as opposed to the links in the blue bar at the top of the page, which are system-wide. In addition, there is a "Subscribe" link.
Select "Subscribe" in the "This Lab" window on the right
Select Subscribe and your login will be added as a subscribed user for this lab. You'll also now see "Access Sandbox" in your "This Lab" window on the right instead of "Subscribe". For labs you've authenticated from your Learning Management System ¿ you will be sent directly to this page already subscribed. We've added self-subscription to the Sandbox so that any user can test out the environment.
In the "This Lab" window on the right, select "Access Sandbox"
You are now in the prep space for running a self-paced lab. On this page you can verify your environment, test your connection speed, review the usage documentation for the user interface, download lab files, review the FAQ and peruse the Forum. When you are ready, run your self-paced lab session.
Select "Start Lab" from the checklist
By following the steps in the checklist, you'll first establish a connection between your desktop and the TrueLab Management (TLM) back-end, which launches the VMware environment. Once the connection has been negotiated, TLM will start a download of the TrueLab Gateway ¿ a Java applet that serves as the user interface. This download can take a few minutes, so please be patient.
Once the applet fires up, you'll see a Solaris login screen ¿ exactly as if you were logging into a classroom lab. Log in as root/cangetin.
Play
You're now in an actual Identity Management lab environment. Feel free to click on the "Select a Lab" icon and follow the Readme instructions for targeting a specific lab module. With the corresponding lab exercise guide (not included for the test environment) you can delve deep in to the Identity content.
Exit Lab
Go back to the Sandbox Session web page and select "End Session" ¿ this kills the process.
